MAKE AMERICA GREAT

According to cnn.com, Trump calls Obama 'a very good man' after historic White House meeting, President Barack Obama welcomed President-elect Donald Trump to the White House Thursday, as both men put past their personal beliefs in the political ring, they peacefully transferred  the position of political power. A few days after mocking Trump as unfit to control the codes needed to launch nuclear weapons, Obama told his successor that he wanted him to succeed and would do everything he could to ensure a smooth transition.Donald Trump, who spent years chasing Obama over false claims that he is not a natural born  American , and also accused him of being the founder of ISIS on the campaign trail, called Obama a "very good man" and said he would seek his counsel in future. The remarkable meeting was a reflection of the shift and unexpected change in the political mood between the frenzied last days of an election campaign and the reality of government and the transition of power between two administrations that follows. In this meeting Obama stated “My No. 1 priority in the next two months is to try to facilitate a transition that ensures our President-elect is successful," Then, Obama told Trump, "If you succeed, the country succeeds,". Donald Trump thanked Obama for the meeting which he said had originally was supposed to be 10 minutes long and lasted for 90. Trump said, "Mr. President, it was a great honor being with you and I look forward to being with you many, many more times.

As i read and articulate the talk with Obama and Tump i realize that this could all be Trump putting up a front just so he can be liked. I honestly would never believe that a conversation between trump and barack obama would be so calm and civil relating to Trump's previous outraging debates with Hillary Clinton anyone would think that he would be reckless speaking to Obama.

  1. This article was written to do more than change the views of the many americans on Donald Trump, but to try and unite the country and calm those that were outraged at the results of the 2016 election. It is true that Trump has made several outrageous comments and accusations about Obama, but it is important to Obama that Trump doesn't destroy what he has tried to build. He is realizing that the country will not move forward divided.

  2. I agree With you Bryce. Due to the fact that many people like Obama having a conversation with Donald trump and saying that you would help make the transition smooth does calm those who were upset about the election of Trump because Obama is involved. My question is how much effect can Obama have on Trump and the policies that he wants to enforce? and will Trump take his advice into consideration because of his experience?

  3. I strongly agree with you Roshard I don't think that Trump will actually take what Obama had to say into consideration. You have to remember he is still apart of the Republican Party and have many views in common with them. Also Donald Trump is very good at manipulating the media and I feel that he used this moment to speak to the president to calm down those angry Hillary Clinton supporters.

  4. I have a question for Ms. Harris. Do you think that when the electoral college votes Hillary Clinton has a strong chance to win?

  5. I agree with all others who commented. In addition I would like to say what if this is not Trump putting up a front but dropping one. What if Trump knew how people would react to things he said and he wanted to do/ say these thing to get those specific reactions. Now that he is basically our next president he no longer has to do or say these things about Obama anymore since he already has his seat in power secured.

  6. You all make strong points and seem to all have the same view as each other and this kind of reminds me of what we did in class, that our views usually comes from outside sources and since we all have the same resources our views on the topics is similar
