The first 100 days in office since FDR, has been viewed to be vital to the president's career in office. These desk is one are often the building blocks of a president's tenure. The new president wasn't foucused on creating a "wall" or abolishing Obamacare, Trump is foucused on international trading influences and cutting buissness practices in America. He is pushing to have greater "influence" on Asian countries.
These tactics are horrible because to "influence" other countries usually means to imperialize them and to put a greater military presence there. This can be concluded because he blames the forming of isis due to the lack of imperialism and he is very pro military. Another detrimental thing based on these first 100 days is the cutting of buisness practices. If you cut business practices that can lead to a deplorable work place for workers and a lack of functionality. Not even a century ago we were fighting the harsh business practices that was lead by robber Barrons like Vanderbilt, carnige, JP Morgan and many others. The fact that a person wants to go back to a time where only wealthy people can only succeed, it's a shame that we elected a president that selfish.

So are you saying that trump wants the US to take on the mantle of imperialism again? What influences are you referring to? Also what business practices? It seems pretty vague. It seems that ISIS and AlQaieda amd the Taliban sprung up in response TO imperialism.

Do you feel that what Trump does within his 100 days will change, for the better, how we view him as president? Also, I felt a little lost reading this as you spoke on different things such as the business practices and didn't elaborate on what exactly he planned on doing. Can you provide more insight?
ReplyDeleteI do see what Charles is saying. Trump's Pro- military stance on foreign countries will be detrimental to our countries development. Still, behind the bigot-like, egotistical qualities of soon to be president Donald Trump, I do believe that Trump is looking at it from a business perspective. His main concern is that foreigners are stealing our business and jobs by sneaking in the country or by you investing in other countries. Whether or not that is really true, trump believes that his extreme acts will benefit our country.

ReplyDeleteTo elaborate, I am saying that Trump will enable limited business practices so that the company owners will get more profit it will divide the rich and poor even more the same way how crude business practices affected business practices in the 20's.

I disagree with the when you say that to influence other countries is to imperialize them. Imperialism means more of influencing them to be more like you in a sense. How do you feel Trumps first 100 days as President will be? Also, do you think that Donald Trump means to sound harsh and imperialistic when he talks about influencing other countries?
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with Justin . The first 100 days in office can contribute to wether a president is successful in his career. One thing that I would like to point out is he has the power to put many bills and laws in place since the republicans have the House of Representatives and senate. Therefore I feel that he's going to many good things for the country that's going to help and very few bad things because even though he is a republican he views thugs differently then the rest of the people in his party.I was also lost when you spoke about the business aspect on things.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the first 100 days in office are important but I don't understand how influencing another country means using military forces but if it does come down to that then I feel like the whole plan would backfire. You can't just use armed forces to enforce something and not expect people to want to fight back but, I agree with zack that imperialism is simply influencing others to be like you which is what I think he meant by influencing.
